***
So do you enjoy summer? I do, I took off from stamping last week and did some private things. It was nice but now I’m starting with DT work again. My grandmother asked me to make a card for a 35 year jubilee. Phew! I thought about a matching image for days but then I found the matching stamp in my collection!

***
The cute Bubbly Bears by Penny Johnson are the perfect image, aren’t they? I used Bazzill cardstock, watercolor paper for the mat and the wonderful Marianne D. pattern paper for my card. The bears are cut with Spellbinders Labels 2 and the borders are made with Fiskar’s apron border punch. In the end I added some beautiful cherry blossoms, sheer ribbon and EK Success leaves as decoration.

***
I colored the image with my Albrecht Duerer watercolor pencils and made the cheeks with pink chalk and a white gel pen. The bubbles are colored with a glitter pen so that you can see them in front of the bears. Now I really hope that my grandmother will like this card.

Once again, I was in need of several thank you cards. But with the busy week I’ve had, it was a must to keep them simple! So this was a great opportunity to try the “tone on tone” technique to make a few CAS (clean and simple) cards.

I punched a kraft border to layer onto the kraft card base and the image was stamped with Baja ink onto Baja paper. Even the flower is sorta tone on tone since I layered one white flower on top of another. Besides using kraft paper, I felt that this technique was giving my cards a more elegant feel so I opted for a very scripty sentiment.

I had in my mind before I started that I wanted to use this image of the girl with flowers. Isn’t she lovely? It is an image by Penny Johnson called Penelope.

Here’s a close-up view so you can see the beautiful detail of this stamp.

Can you believe I used NO patterned papers, NO white cardstock, and NO black ink? LOL.

Even though this card is very simple, I loved how it turned out. I hope it shows how beautifully the Stampavie images can be used even when you choose not to color them.

I hope you have a nice, relaxing day!

This time I have used pink Cardstock. The papers are from Magnolia, they are called Strawberry Line, Lace and a piece of Something Old. On that piece I have stamped with a stamp from Tim Holtz and I have used the colour Frayed Burlap.

I always colour my stamps with Distress Ink, this time I have used Victorian Velvet, Dried Marigold, Scattered Straw, Pumice Stone, Walnut Stain, Brushed Corduroy, Tattered Rose, Vintage Photo, Frayed Burlap and Fired Brick.

The Doily Hart is from a Webshop called Harlekono. The lace comes from the Webshop Scrapbookdepot. The sweet little roses are from Prima Marketing. To finish my card I have used some pearls from Making Memories.

Around the little girl I have used a stamp from Magnolia to decorate the borders.

I sure hope you liked watching this card.

Hugs,

Does this card look a bit familiar? I used the image here to make the announcement for the Stampavie DT Call. If you love the Stampavie products, then you can find out how to apply by scrolling up to the sticky or clicking here!

I hope you enjoyed the Father’s Day weekend! I had a nice, quiet one. DH went on a fishing trip so I got a bit of stamping done and helped a friend with a wedding project.

Have a great week!

I based this card on one I did last year, the layout and hearts just seemed to work with the sweet Penny Johnson Image. The image was coloured with distress inks and twinkling h2O’s but it was so long ago I can’t remember the colours I used.

Yesterday was the day. It was “MichJay Day“. The MichJay Challenge is a personal challenge between my friend and DT mate Michelle and me. Some time ago we were speaking about that there are so many cool 3D projects out there and that we almost only make cards. So we decided to also make 3d things and that’s why we have the monthly MichJay Challenge. For our MichJay Challenge #08 we’ve chosen a shadow box card.

***
I made my shadow box card a bit different. Normally I wanted to make the typically one with a scene in the background but then time was running like so often. That’s why I decided to test something new. And I like it! Isn’t Rosie Rabbit from Penny Johnson the cutest? I wanted to color this image for soo long now and I finally found the time on Saturday during our stamping group meeting. The cardstock is Prism and the patterned paper DCWV.

I just added another mat to my shadow box card. I saw this idea at Anja’s blog and really liked it. For the first time since months I used my QuicKutz alphabet Moxie again. And I just can’t resist to use my Martha Stewart butterfly all the time.

***
I also love my QuicKutz grass shape and cut green SU cardstock and a scrap of the same DCWV paper I used for my card with it. In the end I also added some ants and flowers.

***
I used my Albrecht Duerer watercolor pencils for the image and a new Tombow for the shadow around the image. I added some gemstones to the butterfly and some accents with a white gel pen.
