Hello! Today I have a tutorial to share using a Stampavie stamp and Promarkers. You can also view it on the Letraset blog and be sure to poke around while there for lots of ideas and info. on Letraset products.

Have you ever started to create a project, only to find that you don’t have the exact color of embellishments needed to match your papers? Today I will show you how you can use your Promarkers to create custom colored embellishments for all your paper crafting projects. Promarkers can be used on many items, including adhesive pearls, gemstones, ribbon, flowers, buttons, thread, twine, dew drops, brads, eyelets, chipboard, wood, acrylic, metal pieces, and much more!

First, select the Promarkers that best match the patterned papers you are working with. I chose Black, Apricot, Oatmeal, Bright Orange, and Ivory (not pictured).

To create custom ribbons, I used the chisel tip to color half of my piece Bright Orange and the other half Ivory.

Paper flowers are easily colored with the bullet tip. Try making dots for a fun, fresh look.

Simply apply the markers directly onto gemstones and pearls and you instantly have the color you need. No more running to the store when you are out of your favorite shade! Here I colored 2 gemstones with Bright Orange and 1 pearl with Black.

Buttons are fun to color and the possibilities are endless. Try making dots, stripes, plaids, etc. Let your imagination run!

I used a few of the embellishments above to create this card. The orange gemstones were placed onto the fence and the black pearl accented one of the altered flowers. The colored ribbons border the punched fence and patterned paper. And I colored some thread black to accent my plaid button. The main image, Batty, was colored with Promarkers as well.

I hope you are inspired to create some custom colored embellishments of your own!

Stamp used: Penny Johnson- Batty by Stampavie

Promarkers used: Warm Grey 3,5, Black, Apricot, Oatmeal, Ivory, Bright Orange, Soft Peach, Pear Green, Lime Green, Meadow Green, Blush, Almond, Sunkissed Pink, Burnt Sienna, Caramel, Tan, Blender.

LOL really – soon I will be decorating all surfaces of my house. Right now I have been in the lamp mode. This is my second. After making the first I found this cute desk lamp at Target for only $5.99…. I had to buy it and decorate it right?

Simple project, took less than an hour to do.

First you need to find an image – I chose Stampavie’s Tina Wenke “Hedgehog Reading” – perfect for a desk lamp. I colored with my ProMarkers (colors listed below)

Then gather up your supplies

Your colored image – desk lamp and Safmat – and whatever else you want to decorate with.

Scan in or photo your colored image. Then Size to the object you at attaching it to. For my shade I needed it to be 3.5 inches tall – And print out on a sheet of Safmat.

Cut out and stick down – pretty simple huh?

Then you can decorate with what ever you like – me I found some cute flower ribbon to attach around the top.

I kept it simple – small desk lamp so I didn’t want to over do it.

Looks really cool with the light on..

So simple – So Cute! Childs name – school mascot whatever could be put on this lamp and be very personal for not much money. Safmat really does add so much, so easy!

Hope you like my desk lamp… me I am not sure where this one will go. Wonder if one of my nieces would like it on their desk?

Have a wonderful Day -

Hello – While shopping the other day I had a light bulb go off in my head. Literally… a light! I found these simple pretty glass lamps at IKEA – and for some reason I saw Sarah Kay Images all around the shade. I got so excited, because I knew with the Letraset SafMat product I could easily make that happen!

So how did I make my lamp – Well first I colored up 5 Sarah Kay images with ProMarkers -

Colors Used : Oatmeal, Ivory, Blush, Sandstone, Carmel, Apricot, Blossom, Dusty Rose, Antique Pink, Pink Carnation, Blue Bell, Lavender, Buttercup, Meadow Green, Marsh Green, Denim Blue, Powder Blue, Tan, Burnt Sienna, Poppy, Ice Grey 1, Ice Grey 5, Pastel Beige, and Blender Pen

I then measured my lamp shade. To determine the height I want to print my images on the SafMat -

Then Scan or Photo your images, and then print them to the size needed to fit the lamp shade.

Then it is just a matter of spacing the images around the shade and sticking them in place.

To cover the seams – I used a wide dotted satin ribbon. This is for decoration embellishment as well as to cover the edges of all the SafeMat printed images. I used a clear craft glue to stick the ribbon.

My Lamp is a clear glass – open on the bottom. I filled the glass with Mulberry Roses and Flowers, then used a piece of scrap card stock cut in the same size circle opening and attached it to cover the hole. You could also fill it with buttons, shells, whatever your mind can come up with!

I am pretty happy how this came out – I could see this in a little girls room, nursery or such. But for now I am happy with it sitting in my craft room – I have to say I have been looking at all kinds of lamps now! I have a totally different one in the works right now! What a great personalized gift item! A child’s desk lamp with their favorite character and their own name maybe – oh the ideas are endless!

Thanks so much for looking – hope you enjoyed my light bulb moment!

HUGS

with my first project for the Stampavie blog! I love to create non-card projects, especially little gifts to share with the people in my life. I was inspired by the “I Love Honey” image by Penny Johnson to make this honey themed treat holder.

Would you like to make one? It’s not hard, here are the steps…

1) cut 2 yellow circles about 6.5″ in diameter and 2 yellow circles about 4″ in diameter

2) trim a portion off the bottom of the 2 larger circles so you have a flat edge

3) cut the rest of the larger circles into 1″ wide strips, discard the top piece

4) round the edges of the strips and ink with yellow and brown ink

5) adhere the strips onto the smaller circles, these will be the front and back of your treat bag

6) Cut a piece of yellow cardstock to 10″ x 7.5″

11) score the long side at 4″ and 6″ and the short side at 2″ and 5.5″, cut in tabs and form into a box that is 3.5″ wide, 4″ tall and 2″ deep

12) attach the front and back to the box

Here is a view of the side

13) Attach a length of brown ribbon for the handle, using brads to secure it in place

14) color your “I Love Honey” image and mount onto a piece of brown cardstock. To make the honey shine, I covered it with Glossy Accents. I used a border punch to create the look of dripping honey on the bottom of the brown panel.

15) adhere some bee stickers if desired.

16) fill a cello bag with your favorite snack and place into the box. I made a snack mix out of Honey Comb cereal, chocolate and cinnamon Teddy Grahams and Reeses Pieces candies. YUM!

I hope this inspires you to make a treat for someone you know!

Thanks for visiting!

I used Rachelle Anne Miller’s “Frame – Oval Birds“. Like you see in the pic I covered the birds with some tape. This way they won’t become inked up when inking the stamp! I removed the tape before stamping the frame and…

… now I have a frame without birds! I SO love this oval frame, I think I never stamped it with birds Now I want to place my main image into the oval frame. I know I could stamp the image right over the frame but I don’t want to “break” the beautiful edge so I need a mask.

You see I used this mask before! Stamp your image onto a thin paper (I used a big post it) and cut the middle oval out. Now you have to place your mask over the frame like in the picture above and stamp your main image into the oval which isn’t covered from the mask. Did I tell you that I love Clear Stamps? You can look right through your acrylic block and you will find the right position for your image!

I took the cute Sarah Kay Spring is back image for this tag. You see it’s perfectly matching into the oval frame. After I prepared this tag I had another idea so I made a second tag and of course I also took pics of how it works as well.

This is cute Lucy & Kitty. I stamped the image on my watercolor paper and then made a mask from masking paper (this is what I use for my masks today… the stamp fell off my hand while stamping on my masking paper… LOL … but it isn’t a problem because it’s only a mask and I have to cut the image out). I cut the important parts of Lucy out and stamped the oval frame over her.

When I removed the mask I had Lucy & Kitty sitting in RAM’s oval frame! You don’t see the birds because they were stamped onto the mask. Of course you can take any other frame stamps you have at home for your (gift) tags.

Now I cut Spring is back out with different oval Spellbinders. Lucy is cut out by hand. I used an oval Spellbinders die cut as template for the oval parts and then cut out her legs and feet with a little white edge around them by hand as well as the oval. The mats are made with Spellbinders and my Cuttlebug machine.

This is a detail of the simple tag. I colored the image with watercolor pencils, the yellow frame around her is made with a Tombow pen (no. 020). I added some sparkles to the dots around the frame.

I think you can see the sparkling dots better in this picture. Here I also added some accents with my white gel pen to Lucy’s dress. In the end I added some sheer ribbon to the tags. Now you can use the gift tags as bookmarks when the special day is over!

I hope you enjoyed my little tutorial. Come on and try it yourself. This way you can also join in our current SAV challenge and with some luck you could be the next winner of our secret prize!

Hello and good morning. Today’s card is a little “wild” i love the strong red colors of this Imaginice paper and i must say i have used it so often that i must coordinate my postings so the cards that i show are not all the same lol. For this card i just matched up the mushrooms of the paper with the mushrooms from the Rachelle Anne Miller image “Fairy Magic“.

If you like the Rachelle Anne Miller designs make sure to check often the Stampavie Inspiration blog! From now on the Design Team is allowed to make cards with the new designs and we are allowed to show them on the blog. There is also many new things going on, on Stampavie…. on April 1 you can expect a brand new layout with lots of activities going on were Heidi and Stuart as the entire team would love to invite you. Of course there are also going to be many prizes to expect. So, please mark your calenders!!!

Below you will find a quick and easy step by step picture tutorial how you an re-create the paper flower embellishment. Iit is a fun and easy way to get rid of some scraps of paper and not just toss them in the trash.

[/lang_en][lang_en]All what you need is pictured here:

Scoring Tool – I love my Scor-Pal, Paper Glaze, Glitter i love Martha Stewart glitters, sticky tape, big glue Dots

This kind of embellishment is something that is really “in” currently USA.. it is been used on cards and on scrapbook sites equally often. It is perfect because it gives you the opportunity to get rid of some of the scraps we produce with our expensive Designer Paper.

You want to have 2 or more stripes of the same width. All what you need to remember is that your circle will be doubled the diameter than what you cut your stripe to. By example if you cut one stripe 1 inch wide your “flower” will be final size 2″ wide.

Score both stripes of paper in equal intervals – all the way to the end. I scored mine so the valleys and the mountains are going to be small.

start folding your paper stripe like this:

This is how both stripes of papers will look like after i have finished folding them

add some sticky tape to both ends and adhere the stripes together

This is how it is going to look like:

Place a big glue dot in the middle of your circle

and simply push with your fingers the paper to the inside, closing the circle

Now you can start to embellish your element. I used Paper Glaze and added it just around the outside of the “flower”

sprinkle generously glitter over it

shake excess off

add a generous amount of sticky tape to the back so it will hold in place and you can use this to add the element to your project

finish your embellishment off with buttons, prima flowers or as on my card seen on Pretty Cards with a circular sentiment stamped and cut out with punches.

This flower is a wonderful idea to add also to 3 D – projects as tins or boxes. Nothing super new.. but something to try ????? I hope you like it!

Have a good day

Today i would not only show you a card idea – we also would love to provide you here occassionaly with tutorials.

I would like to show you with belows picture tutorial that if you just start out to purchase/collect your Copic markers that you don’t need to spent a fortune on your first set of makers. To begin with you don’t need to purchase 3 or 4 shades of a color by example R81, R83 and R 85. You rather want colors from each color family. On my picture below i have 3 markers pictured please ignore E34 every single step on my card is colored with only 2 markers out of one color section brown (2 colors E31 and E39), yellow (2 colors), red (2 Colors R22 and R39), green on sweater 1 color.

Lets get started!

When i start coloring i have my Designer paper on the side of my white paper and i start scribbling. Once i have determined the correct base color lets say R27 i would pick R29 to add my shades. You would always pick a number that’s about 2-3 shades darker than your base color. From you base color you can lift highlights out with the blender pen. All my supplies here seen can be purchased at 7KidsCollegeFund. Tab has a wonderful selection of Copic markers, Airbrush system and most don’t forget about the right ink and paper. I love Memento Ink and Neenah Solar White Classic Ultrasmooth paper!!!!

I am using on my card today Sarah Kay’s “Precious Moments” by Stampavie can also be found at 7kids College fund. This picture shows you the first base of color. Knowing that you can add darker areas with the same marker by drawing multiple times over one area – i made sure that i have just one layer of color to the overall.

Now i use the lightest colored pen E31 to pick up some ink with the brush of the tip of the E39 marker. NOTE: THIS IS TOTALLY SAVE FOR YOUR MARKER!!!! just don’t do it with your Blender pen

I use this ink that’s on the tip of my brush to add the shades to the pants. I add the dark color from the top to the bottom. As the ink comes off the tip of the brush i am getting a nice blend of the color between the light brown and the very dark ink. I can use this to brush the ink out towards the center of the pants and even the two colors out

On this picture you can see how i “feather” the brush from the left to the right, smoothing the lines between the darker line and light E31 base out

This is a close up and shows you the colors a lot better. See the part underneath the patch? On this spot is currently only a second layer of E31. You can now use the blender pen to lift some color out or smoothen the ink layers.

Next is the hat. Only one color of yellow – making sure that especially on the top is only one layer! I try when i add the color to color in movements how the fabric would lay or flow. Look at the area where the band of the hat is and the hair… this gives me later on an easier guide to add highlights and i don’t have to work too much with the blender pen to erase lines that point not in the right direction.

at this point i add some more ink with the same color to areas where i want shadows or structure. i can do this up to 3 or 4 times.

Same as shown with the brown color.. i use my lightest yellow marker to get from a really dark maker some ink to the brush.
