Dear friends,

We at Stampavie would very much appreciate if you would join us in supporting our US Representative, Design Team member and dear friend, Michelle Oatman.

On Wednesday evening, June 23, Michelle had an accident while tending her beloved donkeys which has left her blind in her right eye. She has shared the news of her accident in her blog post here (http://donkeysmiles.blogspot.com/2010/06/i-will-be-out-for-awhile-i-have-had.html) Michelle is an amazing stamper and is eager to be able to start crafting again. But she also has a lot of healing that needs to occur and she needs our support.

We at Stampavie want to help her on her road to recovery. While we all would like nothing more than to support her in person, some things are just not possible. So besides sending cyber-hugs, we are asking for PayPal donations which will be sent directly to Michelle to help “kick” the mounting medical costs associated with her surgeries and also to help her obtain an artificial eye.

Tina Wenke has also kindly produced a special digital download (of a donkey, of course!) which you can obtain by clicking the image below and saving the big version to your disk.  In return we simply ask that you donate $3 or more to Michelle’s PayPal fund.

Michelle is a very loving and caring person and we are all lucky to call her “friend”! Michelle says that she is lucky to be married to her best friend. Together, they are parents to their 2 Toy Australian Shepherds, a cat, and their Miniature Donkeys that they raise. The love she gives her animals comes right back, as they keep her busy, entertained and happy. Now, we hope that the love she sends out to the stamping community and beyond will come back as well! Thanks for your help!

Today I’m giving you a sneak peek of our new Tina Wenke Cute Critters stamps collection.  Ten of the cuttest darn critters you’re ever likely to see!

Another sneak peek of our new CHA Winter 2010 releases!

Loopy Lops the rabbit and Ruffles the puppy are just SO cute in these adorable situations.  This sneak peek is of Loopy Lops Strawberry Fair, one of ten stamps that make up Helz Cuppleditch’s spring-summer 2010 collection. Yummy!

Running January 22-23 2010 in Anaheim, CA, the CHA Craft Supershow is two days of exciting events and craft demos, not to mention fantastic craft shopping, with numerous hands-on projects and workshops to try out. Surprise yourself and try something new!

Stampavie is looking for two additional full-time Design Team members!  That’s right, this is perhaps your chance to join in the fun here and get to play with our newest products!

You should be capable of supplying a minimum of 3 creations per month made using our products, accompanied by a short text describing your work, for blog publication and use in advertising.  You will also be asked to submit a project example for our Stampavie Creations newsletter (once per month maximum) as well as enter examples for our bi-weekly challenge.

We will also be asking you to create a number of new projects with our latest products in advance of CHA Winter this coming January, including sending us your work to be showcased at the show.

Note that we do not restrict our DT members from participating in other DT’s, but if you are heavily involved in other DT’s, you should ask yourself the question if you’ll be able to meet your commitments.

You should naturally be capable of sending high-quality photos of your creations by email.

Hey everyone!

I’ve been a little under the weather lately, but if ANYTHING makes me smile, I adore this cute penguin from “Penguin and Tree” image from Gillian Roberts.   Have you seen Gillian’s ADORABLE collection of cute, fuzzy, and festive critters on the Stampavie website?  They are so adorable and just make me want to hug them!!

Have you noticed the trend in the use of non-traditional Christmas colors this year?  It’s all over the place…the Designer papers, cardstocks, and embellishment lines are SUPER fun and right up my alley.  Now, don’t get me wrong, I love red and green as much as the next person, but I really love the use of brighter, bolder colors for the holiday season and also the use of softer colors such as pinks and blues which you’ve probably seen, too.

I used a nice mix of traditional AND non-traditional for this card, including YELLOW.   You might say “REALLY?  YELLOW?  On a CHRISTMAS Card?”  Well, one of my FAVORITE lines this year is Cosmo Cricket’s “Jolly by Golly” and yes, there is YELLOW.  PINK.  AQUA.      LOVE IT!

Speaking of pink, who doesn’t love a pink penguin?   Can you tell I had a BLAST making this card?   I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.  It makes me smile    Thanks for sticking with me today and I will talk to you all soon,

The Big Stamp and Scrapbooking Show

Alexandra Palace, London, UK

What a whirlwind weekend! Saturday morning at 4.30am we were up and getting ready to fly off to the The Big Stamp and Scrapbooking Show in London.

Alexandra Palace, or the Ally Pally, was built in 1873 and is named after Alexandra of Denmark who was Queen consort of the UK from 1901 to 1910.  The Ally Pally is an iconic building, set in a gently hilly, wooded park overlooking London.  Saturday the weather was sunny and warm, and the building and park were glowing with autumn sunshine.  What a wonderful setting for this stamp show!

The lobby was full and the atmosphere was great. The sun was warming the air and everyone was in high spirits

The show was very busy, and actually got busier as the day went on, with more and more people arriving. We started off by visiting some of our retailers before searching for coffeeeeeeee! But, of course, we had not brought enough £’s with us, and the cash machine in the hall didn’t accept our French card, so off we went for a half hour walk across the park to search for another cash machine!  Cash machine found and £’s in hand, we took a quick traditional English breakfast (yummy!!) in a cafe in Wood Green before getting the bus back up to the Ally Pally. Thanks to the bus driver for the free ride because he didn’t have change to take our fare!

We toured the show and watched a lot of the demonstrations which were continually being announced over the tannoy. We caught up with the talented Bev Rochester on The Hobby House booth with Jill Baldwin. Bev was busy doing endless demos and it was great to chat with you Bev! She had made buckets of beautiful Sarah Kay cards which were decorating Gill’s booth. Her colouring with distress inks and twinkle H2O is incredible!

We had a great time, making new friends and bumping into people! I even bought some Copics Flesh Tones to try out colouring myself (hands off Heidi lol!) Here’s some more pictures we took during the day…

We also had a tiny brief chance to say Hi on the Samuel Taylors booth who were so incredibly busy. It was nice to meet you and hopefully next time we’ll have more of an opportunity to chat!

It really was a fun day and we enjoyed meeting everyone at this show. We had to leave shortly after 4.30pm and drove through central London instead of taking the M25 to do a bit of “instant tourism” on the way to the airport.  A quick drive past Buckingham Palace, Westminster and the Thames, we were back at Gatwick airport at 6.30 for our 8pm flight.  After a rushed bite to eat, we flew off exactly on-time and got home at 11pm, only to realise that we’d left a present for our neighbour hanging on the seat in Gatwick airport.   Arghhhh! Sob.
