I also love to put a focal image out of the ” box” for added interest. If you look closely at my first project with Lynnette Collecting Her Vegetables you will see that I cut out extra vegetables and popped them up to add depth to the garden.

For my second project I cut out Siku and Shiya to pop up over festive holiday designer paper with a snow storm in the background that I created using a tiny brush, white craft reinker and white embossing powder. I used white watercolor paint to color the fur trim on the jackets.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

It has been way too long since my Sarah Kays got inky! They’re so fun!

I drew the sun shape, traced it on my card and cut it out. Then I stamped the sweet Sarah Kay image on the front. This one is called Lynette Collecting Her Vegetables. The circular shape is the cardfront and the back of the card has the “rays”.

Some sponging, doodled stitches, and Stickles finished off the edges. I was happy with how it turned out, but I wished I would have cut around the Sarah Kay image and popped her up on the front because that way I could have embossed a pattern on the sun. Next time!

I hope you have a fabulous weekend! Enjoy the sun!

If you’re a Fan Club Member this is your chance to play along with Dirty Girls, past and present, in a ton of fun challenges. If you’re not a Fan Club Member, this is the perfect time to become one! You can get all the info here. There are 33 challenges to choose from – play one or play them all.

I made this card for a challenge called Embrassing White Space. Leaving lots of white space around an image is really a challenge for me. I always want to add grass, trees or some type of background scenery to make the image pop to life. More is always better as far as I am concerned. I sort of proved myself wrong with Adele and her basket full of apples as they seem to pop right off the all white background. Sarah Kay’s little girls are absolutely adorable images that can definitely stand alone and be the center piece of any project.

I hope you take time to pop on over to Splitcoaststampers and check out the special week of challenges.

School finished this afternoon for the summer, so things have been a bit crazy, I’m sorry!

I have yet another card showing “Bernadette admiring the spring flowers” to show you today – yep, she’s definitely my favourite!

She’s such a beauty, I wanted to keep embellishments to an absolute minimum – so I opted for one big button and some squiggly stitching!

Hope you’re having a great day!

I only wanted to use the cat from the Coco Cat Flowers so I masked off the floral bouquet and bees when I inked the stamp. I don’t often do clean and simple card designs but I wanted the cat to be the main focus of my project so I used plain kraft cardstock for the background and simple brown for layering. I love the simplicity of the paw prints going across the card and right around the cat image and the brown ginham bow and fish bone tag was the perfect simple embellishment.

I hope you have a wonderful and that you have a chance to get your fingers inky.
