I have coloured this image with the Distress ink : Tattered Rose, Forest moss, Dusty concord, Spiced marmelade, Vintage photo.

Anyone who knows me, will be well aware of my complete uselessness when it comes to planning ahead for Christmas. I’m the one still making Christmas cards on December 24th…
So no-one could be more shocked than I by the fact I have one card made already…

Isn’t this Gillian Roberts Penguin just the cutest? I’ve teamed it with a snowy fence stamp I had, a simple sentiment and some bright and funky MME papers {and a LOT of glitter, but that doesn’t really show up in the picture!}

So how’s everyone else doing with Christmas cards? Are you a last minute kinda person like me? Or do you {eeeeeeek!} have them all made already?!

Today I have a real hot and summery card to share.   I have used the adorable Picking Cherries by Gillian Roberts and teamed it with October Afternoon papers.

I coloured the image with copics but I am struggling with the reds, the brighter colours seem too bright and garish to me.  Now I know why I love my distress inks lol.

I stitched around the papers for a more country feel.

I have had a commission to make some Gillian Roberts, Penny Johnson and Sarah Kay cards for a mini publication and this is one of them.

I have used MME Penny Lane papers, the image (In the Park) by Gillian Roberts for Stampavie has been coloured with distress inks.

The border punch is Fiskars Apron Lace.  I inked the edges of the papers with Victorian Velvet distress ink.

Hello everyone. It’s hot ouside but not hot enough to making a card. So I made another one. This time with the image Skateboard Dude from the Gillian Roberts collection. Cards for boys are most off the time not easy, but with this images I have no problem to make one.

I used the paper from Cosmo Cricket The Boyfriend. The stars are grungboard and I painted crackle paint on it. The punch I used is from E.K Succes.

I coloured this image with the Distress ink: Tattered rose, Barn door, Vintage photo, Scattered straw, Pine needles, Bundled sage.

How fun to make a treat for your favorite teddy bear….and a chocolate treat at that.  Yum!  I think this little girl sitting on the floor baking for her little chef teddy is precious.  It’s a perfect size image to put on a 4″ x 4″ square card to accompany a batch of brownies for a friend.

The images were painted with a brush, reinker and water on watercolor paper.  The floor boards were sketched in with an artist pen.  This was a fun and fast project.

Did you have an enjoyable weekend?  I hope so!  We attended my neice’s wedding (which was beautiful!) and had a family picnic.  With all the activities going on, I wasn’t able to play along this time in the new Stampavie challenge to create a tag.  So I decided to make my card into a tag shape instead!  I always forget to try this again…it’s a fun look and a change from the usual square card shape.

This sweet image is called Teddy And Me and it’s from the Gillian Roberts collection.  The “tag” is actually a normal sized card.  I started with a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inch card base.  The top corners were trimmed off and the fold of the card is at the top. 

The bottom of the cardfront was punched with an older Fiskars border punch.  I don’t know why I haven’t used it more often…it’s so pretty!  The red layer on the bottom is actually attached to the inside.

This is what I should be doing – enjoying the warm weather sat out in the garden instead of beavering away up here in my craft room.

I have used Looking at you by Gillian Roberts for my card today and teamed it up with another of my favourite colour combos.  A bit or ribbon, some flowers and bling and I’m a happy bunny lol.

I have coloured the image with Copics and used some digi papers for a change.

I needed a simple Happy Birthday card, and this one really came together very quick… And it has chocolate in the the bowl so yummy!

This is Stampavie’s Gillian Roberts “Baking a Treat”…. I just love it! How adorable are these two bakers? I have colored with my Copics, and then added just a bit of Spica Glitter pen to the Chocolate in the bowl, and some white gel pen high lights. Then cut out with a Nesties Label and used a Copic to create a Mat look.

Now seriously, this card came together so fast. I needed it to be flat – (easier to mail) – I layered the yellow card stock base with a dusty pink and white card stock – then used one piece of K&Company Cut and Paste collection paper, I love the scattered layer look of this pattern paper – and again you don’t need a lot when using it as it already looks like lots of different papers. And this one was perfect for a Birthday card as it has old recipes for Cakes on it! I sewed it with the mats. Then I cut out Happy Birthday from the pink card stock with a Sizzix Card Makers die, the cupcake is a part of that die… wasn’t going to use it in the beginning and then I realized that the top corner was empty looking, and well… the cupcake fit perfectly. I colored the die cut with Copics and then Spica Glitter pens.

Again this was a fast one, but I so love how it came out – great image with the perfect paper helps a whole bunch!

This time I have made a card for a boy. I thought it would be fun making something totally different from what I always do. For this card I have used a sweet stamp from Gillian Roberts. He has made a wonderful collection this year!

I have used blue Cardstock. The papers are from Bo Bunny, the collection is called Back to Basics. To make this card look a little tough, I have used some jute.

The flowers are from Prima Marketing and the tag is from Tim Holtz.

I have used the following colours of Distress Ink:  Weathered Wood, Faded Jeans, Peeled Paint, Shabby Shutters, Vintage Photo, Brushed Corduroy, Black Soot, Tattered Rose and Fired Brick.

I sure hope you enjoyed watching this card.
