Winter Bunny and Star Gazing

No Gravatar

It’s my turn to post again today and I have a couple projects to share with you.  I had a fun time playing in the Splitcoaststampers challenges over the holiday weekend and using some of new images from the Stampavie Christmas 2010 Collection.

The first project is using Sarah Kay’s Rose Cuddling the Winter Bunny.  This image is so sweet and touches my heart. KC Sarah Kay Rose Cuddling Winter Bunny

Here is a closer look to show the dimension between Rose and the snowy tree scene behind her.KC Sarah Kay Rose Cuddling Winter Bunny 2

You can check out the multi loop bow tutorial on my blog if you would like to learn how I made my bow.

The second project is a pop up stage card made for the Technique Lover’s Challenge.  You can find the tutorial for this project on   Paper Punch Addiction provided by Kim Score. I used one of the new Laurence Design images called Star Gazing.  I stamped and painted the tree and bears and cut away the rest of the image so I could place them on the stage and show the mountains, trees and the bright star off in the distance.  See Tracy’s Star Gazing post from yesterday to see the complete image.

Here is the belly band I made to fit around the card when it is closed.

This pop up stage card was a real challenge for me.  I am paper challenged when it comes to measuring and intricate details but I really enjoyed the process.  Take a look at the Kim’s tutorial and imagine what you can put on “stage”.

Star Gazing

No Gravatar

Hello stampers! Now that we are in September, it is time for me to start working on Christmas cards. If I don’t start now they won’t be done in time and it is dreadful when friends get store bought cards from the card maker, lol!

The instant I saw the stamp “Star Gazing” from Laurence Designs I imagined it in a snow globe. Strange how the mind works sometimes. So, I used my die cuts to create a snow globe shaped card.

Actually, I used the die cuts to create the circle and then hand fashioned the base to fit. This card fits into an A2 sized envelope. The image is colored with Copics and then I added lots of glitter on the snow.

I hope you are inspired to think outside the card “box” and try one with a different shape!

Thanks for visiting today!

-Tracy

Jacqueliné baking sweet treats – Chocolate I think!

No Gravatar

We all love Sarah Kay – especially me :0) And when I saw the new ones I just fell in love with each of them, but Jacqueline, oh my she was the first one I inked up and had to color up!(You can see all of the new Sarah Kays HERE)

Love a girl making up some …hhhmmmm I think Chocolate brownies! LOL

SK baking aI knew exactly what paper I had to use, I found his cute piece of baking themed paper on a clearance rack – no name on it, but just loved it and was saving it for something special – nothing more special than new Sarah Kays!  I sewed it down with a striped scrap and blue Bazzil Swiss Dots paper. I made a lace doily border with a EK Success punch, and a pink dot ribbon. SK bakinc b

I colored with my Copics, and all though it is hard to tell in the photo I highlighted a lot of this image with Spica Glitter pens – this baby sparkles in the light!

Hope you like Jacqueline – I know you are loving her and all the new Sarah Kays – me… I am thinking I need to go and see if I have everything to make some brownies :0)

Have a wonderful Saturday!

My turn again to share a project with you. Not an ordinary card this time…

rimna3sep

I found a cute little basket and wondered what I could do with it. I created a greeting to a friend with 3D effect. Lovely stamp from Sarah Kay’s new release. Painted with Distress Inks on watercolor paper.

splashin’ in the puddles!

No Gravatar

Have you seen the NEW Sarah Kay Autumn and Winter collection?  Oh my…I think these are my new Sarah Kay favorites!  Adorable!

I used the Charlotte and Pepé Walking in the Rain image to make this tent card.  The image was cut out, omitting the raindrops so the background paper would show through.  Now it has stopped raining and Charlotte and Pepé decided to take a walk and splash in the puddles.  It looks like they are going to visit a friend…Charlotte has a basket full of goodies in tote!

Here is a side view of the tent card.  Directions to make this style of card can be found here.

I applied some Crystal Lacquer to the puddles and also to the puppy’s coat to resemble a shiny rain slicker.

Now go check out the sweeeet new images!  Which one is your favorite?  As usual, I have a hard time choosing!  ;)

Sarah Kay – Precious Moments

No Gravatar

***
Last weekend I made a card from a sketch again. When I saw the sketch for the first time I was in panic because there are so many layers of paper. In the end it wasn’t that hard and this is how my card came out:

semechallenge_08Ich habe einen 12 x 12″ Papierblock von K & Company für meine Karte genommen. Sind die Farben nicht schön? Passend dazu habe ich olivgrünen Stampin’ Up!
***
I used paper from a 12 x 12″ pad from K & Company for my card. Aren’t the colors gorgeous? Matching to them I used Stampin’ Up!’s olive cardstock for the card’s base. The border punch is SU as well (sale-a-bration (US)) and the lace is from a Hero Arts set. I stamped the sentiment on a QuicKutz tag and added Scrapper’s Floss to the end. The photo corners are from QuicKutz as well.

semechallenge_08_imageColoriert habe ich das Sarah Kay “Precious Moments” Motiv mit Albrecht Dürer Aquarellstiften, den beigen Schatten um das Motiv herum habe ich mit einem Tombow gemacht.

I colored Sarah Kay’s “Precious Moments” image with Albrecht Duerer watercolor pencils and added a beige shadow with a Tombow pen around the image.

Snowy Cuddles…

No Gravatar

Just a quickie post from me today – everyone goes to back to school/work in this house this week, so we’re making the most of the sunshine and enjoying ourselves!
I have a really simple little project to share – a tag!

DSC08428_picnik

Aren’t these just perfect for using up paper scraps? And how much sweeter would a gift look with one of these tied to to it? :D
The image is “Snowy Cuddles” from the Penny Johnson Christmas 2010 line – cute!

Hope everyone enjoys their day – I wonder if I’ll get a chance to do a bit of colouring today? ;D

merry little Christmas

No Gravatar

Sorry I am late with today’s post!  I got my days mixed up and thought I posted tonight.  Anyway, I’ve been playing with the new Christmas release stamps and have a card to share with the new Chic Shopping image.

Chic ShoppingIsn’t she such a cute image?!  I just love Penny Johnson’s illustrations.    I colored her with copic markers and used some Basic Grey patterned papers (from the Bittersweet and Figgy Pudding lines).

chic shoppimng close upI die cut the image with a circle nestability die and sponged blue ink around the edge while it was still in the die.    I added some polar white flower soft below the girl and her pup.  Then, I added lots of stickles to the fur on her coat and hat and to the flowers.

Have a great day!

Niki
