Penny Johnson creates such lovely images of people! I really enjoy coloring her images and this new one called, “Happy Day” is one of my favorites from the release.
I created a cupcake shaped card as my base, cutting the bottom from corrugated cardboard and hand cutting the top from pattern paper. If you aren’t sure about your final shape, start out on scrap paper and trace onto your pattern paper to avoid waste. I added some machine stitching, ribbon and a red button for the cherry. For Penny’s adorable image, I used Copic markers and Prismacolor pencils. The candle flames have touches of glitter pen for a bit of sparkle. The sentiment is from Tina Wenke’s new set called “Sweet Wishes”, it was a perfect compliment to the card.
