Hello friends! Are you all warm inside?? We had to turn our heat on this week for the first time. Now we are cozy warm despite the cold and blustery weather outside. It has not snowed yet but I can feel it coming in the air very soon.
Speaking of warm inside…how about a hot cup of coffee or hot chocolate? Mmmm. Tis the season for gift giving and coffee or hot chocolate make a nice gift for a special someone, teacher or co-worker. Today’s project is a cup shaped gift card holder using Penny Johnson’s “All Warm Inside” image.
The finished project fits into a regular A2 sized envelope. The front of the card is decorated with some festive holiday paper. I used Copic markers to color my image, adding some Distress Vintage Photo around all my edges. The steam rising from the cup has glitter pen over top as well. The sentiment is from the “Holiday Wishes” set. I added a bit of twine, some punched holly leaves and red rhinestone “berries”.
The fun part of this project is the insert…
You simply pull up on the lid to reveal a gift card or note. Notice how the brown insert looks like coffee?? A glue dot or two hold the gift card in place. The fold on these is on the bottom so the insert can go in the top. You could turn it into a card by putting the fold at the top.
I can think of several coffee lovers on my holiday list who would like a gift like this. How about you?
Thanks for visiting!
