Holidays Are Near

Hello everyone. Can you believe August will soon be over? Labor
Day is right around the corner and the next thing you know Halloween,
Thanksgiving and Christmas will be upon us. Time certainly does fly by quickly.  I have two fun projects to share with you today to get you in the mood for
holiday card making.

My first project is made using Penny Johnson’s Batty. He is the cutest Count Dracula I have ever seen. I stamped the image on watercolor paper, painted with reinkers mixed with water and cut out. I created a  layered frame using cute Halloween designer paper by Making Memories that I have had in my stash for a long time. The sentiment is from the new Peace On Earth set by Tina Wenke.  I masked over a portion of the “For A Special Friend” to shorten it to fit my card. I loved the addition of the black and orange punched oak leaves.

My second project is made using Tina Wenke’s Winter Birdhouse. Winter and Christmas holiday cards are my most favorite of all to make.  This adorable birdhouse made me smile the first time I saw it.  I knew I was going to have a great time making cards with it this season. I stamped the image on watercolor paper, painted with reinkers mixed with water and cut out.  I created a frame in red to contrast with the white embossed background and that would allow the image to be center stage.  I arranged a punched foliage bough with tiny red and white flowers and Flower Soft at the top of the frame and attached a red multi loop bow.  Lots of sparkle was added to the flowers and the foliage around the birdhouse but sadly it doesn’t show well in the photos.

Have you started on your holiday cards yet?  This is just a
reminder that they will be here before you know it.  Have a great
weekend.
