Vintage Sunshine

How about a little yellow today?? Yellow often conjures up “sun” and we need some of that in my part of the world. Yellow to me also means bright, happy, cheerful. All good things. For today’s sample I also combined yellow with a touch of vintage.

The image is called “A Stamp of Friendship” and is from the new vintage collection. I colored the image with a combination of Copic markers and Prismacolor Pencils. I cut out just the floral part of the image and distressed the edges with Vintage Photo Distress ink. I embossed it with 2 layers of UTEE, set it in the freezer for 10 minutes and then bent the piece until the clear embossing cracked. To make the cracks even more dramatic, I rubbed more Vintage Photo ink over the piece allowing the ink to settle into the cracks. I stamped the image a second time and adhered the cracked glass center . The edges of the stamp were sponged with Antique Linen ink and I added shadows with a  marker.

The lower left corner of the image has a button but I had a brass flower trinket in my stash that I thought would work well. I found a matching yellow brad to adhere it to the image. Some crinkled brown ribbon finishes off my design.

Thanks for visiting! I wish you a day filled with sunshine!
