MJ Challenge 2c

I was so excited when I heard new Sarah Kay images were coming out. I love all of  the Stampavie images – but Sarah Kay images seem to really touch me, reminds me of my childhood - my grandmother even.  And I am sure like most of you I have been just dying for new ones to ink and play with – well the wait is no more!! Cuz really soon they will be available for you to ink and play with too! I don’t even know they name of  this one yet – but as soon as I saw that little kitty and her hair braided up on her head I knew that was the first one for me to color – and the perfect  project was fellow Stampavie DT member JayJay and I’s personal challenge to make more 3-d items.

MJ Challenge 2b

This is a heart box template from http://www.create4fun.nl/    Now it was hard to photograph, I need to add something to hang things from in my photo tent! Anyway I cut out the template from I believe My Minds Eye papers, the only name I can find now on my scraps is TresJolie – I think that was a line of theirs.

MJ Challenge 2a
I used the backside solid and cut a smaller heart, then again the pattern side for a stacked even smaller heart, that is all sewed together with a zig zag stitch. The lace is sewed on around the edge of the box before I put it together. I added a small piece to the sides as a handle, and then a band across the middle of the heart to have my image sit on. One of my MIL crocheted flowers matched PERFECTLY, with a jewelry spacer mini brad and two Martha Stewart frond leaf punches. The sentiment is from Heidi Grace, an epoxy sticker on white card stock then cut out.  The new SK image is colored with my Copics and then cut out and pop dotted onto the heart box.
You’ll be seeing lots of the new Sarah Kay images on the DT blogs over the next few weeks -we are all just so excited about them -
HUGS!
