I Want Candy…
…don’t you?
Just looking at this adorable “Candy Time” image illustrated by Rachelle Anne Miller from Stampavie evokes that feeling of being a little kid and walking down to the local drug store with my brother. Do you all remember “wooden nickels”? I’m not sure if it was just where we grew up, but back then you could earn a “Wooden Nickel” to redeem for candy, etc. at the drug store. I remember getting these wooden nickels with our prescriptions when we were sick, and my Dad’s friend, who happened to be the Pharmacist would tell us that we could come back and use them when we felt better…and boy, did my brother and I cash in!
My favorite candies to buy with these used to be Red hots, and also those little Candy lipsticks and Bubble gum cigars. Ha ha do you remember those??? And, although it kills me as a Mom to let my kids eat this when they get it for Halloween, Easter, etc…there is still NOTHING like fun dip. 100% pure sugar-processed AND dyed!
Man, being an adult sure does take the fun out of it, doesnt it? LOL!
Nevertheless, this carefree, easy image so reminds me of being little and does lend itself to wanting to indulge my little ones every now and again, too…all in moderation, right?
