Hello and good morning. Today’s card is a little “wild” :-) i love the strong red colors of this Imaginice paper and i must say i have used it so often that i must coordinate my postings so the cards that i show are not all the same lol. For this card i just matched up the mushrooms of the paper with the mushrooms from the Rachelle Anne Miller image “Fairy Magic“.

If you like the Rachelle Anne Miller designs make sure to check often the Stampavie Inspiration blog! From now on the Design Team is allowed to make cards with the new designs and we are allowed to show them on the blog. There is also many new things going on, on Stampavie…. on April 1 you can expect a brand new layout with lots of activities going on were Heidi and Stuart as the entire team would love to invite you. Of course there are also going to be many prizes to expect. So, please mark your calenders!!! :-)

Below you will find a quick and easy step by step picture tutorial how you an re-create the paper flower embellishment. Iit is a fun and easy way to get rid of some scraps of paper and not just toss them in the trash.

[/lang_en][lang_en]All what you need is pictured here:

Scoring Tool – I love my Scor-Pal, Paper Glaze, Glitter i love Martha Stewart glitters, sticky tape, big glue Dots

This kind of embellishment is something that is really “in” currently USA.. it is been used on cards and on scrapbook sites equally often. It is perfect because it gives you the opportunity to get rid of some of the scraps we produce with our expensive Designer Paper.

You want to have 2 or more stripes of the same width. All what you need to remember is that your circle will be doubled the diameter than what you cut your stripe to. By example if you cut one stripe 1 inch wide your “flower” will be final size 2″ wide.

Score both stripes of paper in equal intervals – all the way to the end. I scored mine so the valleys and the mountains are going to be small.

start folding your paper stripe like this:

This is how both stripes of papers will look like after i have finished folding them

add some sticky tape to both ends and adhere the stripes together

This is how it is going to look like:

Place a big glue dot in the middle of your circle

and simply push with your fingers the paper to the inside, closing the circle

Now you can start to embellish your element. I used Paper Glaze and added it just around the outside of the “flower”

sprinkle generously glitter over it

shake excess off

add a generous amount of sticky tape to the back so it will hold in place and you can use this to add the element to your project

finish your embellishment off with buttons, prima flowers or as on my card seen on Pretty Cards with a circular sentiment stamped and cut out with punches.

This flower is a wonderful idea to add also to 3 D – projects as tins or boxes. Nothing super new.. but something to try ????? I hope you like it!
Have a good day

  • I loved the tutorial and the medallion is fab. But, please don’t throw scraps of paper in the trash. If you will consider this. I have asked a couple of people who have actually done this. I am on fixed income and cannot buy many supplies. I also teach a class at the local senior center where I volunteer not only my time but my supplies and we don’t get to have it much. When I can talk someone into it, I will gladly pay the postage for a box of your scraps or throwaway items. Scraps of paper, punched out pieces, anything you don’t use, etc. Anything the ladies can make stuff with. We have the best time and we donate our cards to a local HELP center for seniors that are needy to go with goodie baskets. Currently some are getting our cards with an Easter dinner. If you would be interested please email me at lindabob2008@sbcglobal.net. Thanks!

  • Wow!!! Claudia this is amazing! You are such a genius and and artist! Thank you so much for the flower tutorial. I have been wondering how the are made and what a great idea to use a glue dot! The card though is so stunning! I adore the bright vibrant colors as well and the coloring is amazing. I have been holding back from getting this paper beacause I wasn’t sure how to use it but now I think i need it! It looks so good!

    Smiles,
