splashin’ in the puddles!

Have you seen the NEW Sarah Kay Autumn and Winter collection?  Oh my…I think these are my new Sarah Kay favorites!  Adorable!

I used the Charlotte and Pepé Walking in the Rain image to make this tent card.  The image was cut out, omitting the raindrops so the background paper would show through.  Now it has stopped raining and Charlotte and Pepé decided to take a walk and splash in the puddles.  It looks like they are going to visit a friend…Charlotte has a basket full of goodies in tote!

Here is a side view of the tent card.  Directions to make this style of card can be found here.

I applied some Crystal Lacquer to the puddles and also to the puppy’s coat to resemble a shiny rain slicker.

Now go check out the sweeeet new images!  Which one is your favorite?  As usual, I have a hard time choosing!  ;)

Sarah Kay – Precious Moments

No Gravatar

***
Last weekend I made a card from a sketch again. When I saw the sketch for the first time I was in panic because there are so many layers of paper. In the end it wasn’t that hard and this is how my card came out:

semechallenge_08Ich habe einen 12 x 12″ Papierblock von K & Company für meine Karte genommen. Sind die Farben nicht schön? Passend dazu habe ich olivgrünen Stampin’ Up!
***
I used paper from a 12 x 12″ pad from K & Company for my card. Aren’t the colors gorgeous? Matching to them I used Stampin’ Up!’s olive cardstock for the card’s base. The border punch is SU as well (sale-a-bration (US)) and the lace is from a Hero Arts set. I stamped the sentiment on a QuicKutz tag and added Scrapper’s Floss to the end. The photo corners are from QuicKutz as well.

semechallenge_08_imageColoriert habe ich das Sarah Kay “Precious Moments” Motiv mit Albrecht Dürer Aquarellstiften, den beigen Schatten um das Motiv herum habe ich mit einem Tombow gemacht.
***
I colored Sarah Kay’s “Precious Moments” image with Albrecht Duerer watercolor pencils and added a beige shadow with a Tombow pen around the image.

Snowy Cuddles…

No Gravatar

Just a quickie post from me today – everyone goes to back to school/work in this house this week, so we’re making the most of the sunshine and enjoying ourselves!
I have a really simple little project to share – a tag!

DSC08428_picnik

Aren’t these just perfect for using up paper scraps? And how much sweeter would a gift look with one of these tied to to it? :D
The image is “Snowy Cuddles” from the Penny Johnson Christmas 2010 line – cute!

Hope everyone enjoys their day – I wonder if I’ll get a chance to do a bit of colouring today? ;D

merry little Christmas

No Gravatar

Sorry I am late with today’s post!  I got my days mixed up and thought I posted tonight.  Anyway, I’ve been playing with the new Christmas release stamps and have a card to share with the new Chic Shopping image.

Chic ShoppingIsn’t she such a cute image?!  I just love Penny Johnson’s illustrations.    I colored her with copic markers and used some Basic Grey patterned papers (from the Bittersweet and Figgy Pudding lines).

chic shoppimng close upI die cut the image with a circle nestability die and sponged blue ink around the edge while it was still in the die.    I added some polar white flower soft below the girl and her pup.  Then, I added lots of stickles to the fur on her coat and hat and to the flowers.

Have a great day!

Today I also have a Dearest Deer card to share (image by Penny Johnson from the new 2010 Christmas release). I had already made this card ready to post when I realised one had been posted yesterday by Anne (I didn’t have a chance to get another card made using a different image).

savdeers

I have used Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses paper, a Martha Stewart Deep Edger punch and some pretty gingham ribbon.  The image has been coloured with Copics.

Thanks for stopping by, have a good weekend!

Summer is Ending…

No Gravatar

and school is about to start in our area. I am looking forward to some cooler fall weather but am a bit sad that vacation time is almost over. As one last hoorah to summer fun, I made this treat box using the Gillian Roberts image called “In the Park”.

815swingbox

The box is just a gable box I had and the tall shape works nicely with the tree and swinging girl.  I colored her with Copic markers and cut her out with a Spellbinders die. I created a park like setting with grassy hills, a tree and blue skies.

I may fill it with some fun back to school supplies like markers or maybe some yummy goodies from my kitchen.

Thanks for taking time to visit here at the Stampavie blog today! We appreciate it!
